Makes firefox run faster

I use Ghostery for both my Firefox and Chrome (from Chrome addons site). It stops the tracking, shows how many it has blocked from different sites, and lets you set your options as to how you want it to look. It definitely has speeded up both Firefox and Chrome !! For me, it works better than AdBlock.

Ghostery definitely helps in blocking unwanted tracking and doesn't slow down browsing. I've been using this for some time and it's still great. Very nice to see who's watching what you're doing from sites you visit, still one of my fav add ons.

Works well for me

I use it with Pale Moon, an optimized Firefox derivative. I block all beacons, but not much else. I have never run into a problem accessing a website because of Ghostery. If you block everything, you can expect to run into problems. If you try to be very detailed in what you block, it will take a lot of time to go through the extensive lists of candidates, and you will have to keep updating what is blocked.

My husband recommended it to me and I find it great! I do, however, use an alternative browser without Ghostery installed for those sites that don't like the filtering.

Useful, but some compatibility issues

Ghostery is useful, but some web pages may not work correctly when it is enabled. It is possible to pause Ghostery if this happens, or to select which individual trackers to allow.
