Ghostery for Firefox Ghostery for Firefox

Makes firefox run faster 5 stars
I use Ghostery for both my Firefox and Chrome (from Chrome addons site). It stops the tracking, shows how many it has blocked from different sites, and lets you set your options as to how you want it to look. It definitely has speeded up both Firefox and Chrome !! For me, it works better than AdBlock. Price: Free

Wise Disk Cleaner Free Wise Disk Cleaner Free

Does not delete chrome cache, or sessions 3 stars
I have been using Wise Disk Cleaner for some time now. I also started using Chrome Browser, along with my Firefox browser. CCleaner will clean out everything for both browsers. However, Wise Disk Cleaner does NOT clean the Chrome Cache, even with it checked to be deleted !! It also does not delete the Chrome Sessions. Price: Free

Google Chrome Google Chrome

Best of all the rest. 5 stars
I have used Chrome, Version 44, for about 2 months now. Have searched the web for some tweaks, and tips, from different sites, on how to make it even faster. Firefox is still my Default Browser, but Chrome is getting closer! I only use the Video Speed Control, as an extension, and can view ANY video anywhere, at true speed.....no more of this "slow, slow" stuff. I also use the Bookmarks Star (gold star) which I can now click on, and it shows my bookmarks right away.....just one click. Don't have to go through the menu bars anymore. These 2 add-ons are from the apps web site, found through Google search. Ccleaner clears all the stuff I want to clear, such as History, Cache, Sessions, (I haven't signed in to Google to have it cover all my places, don't intend to), cookies, etc. It is somewhat faster than Firefox. It took me some time to find the tips to use in changing some of the chrome:flags experiments....made it ever faster. Price: Free

Avast Free Antivirus Avast Free Antivirus

Best of all of them 5 stars
I have tried AVG, Panda, and some other antivirus programs...all free. Avast is the best of the bunch. It can be scheduled to run whenever I want it to....usually taking about 37 minutes for a Full Scan. I have it set for 3 times a week, around 2 am. It updates when new definitions are available. I disabled the full browser scan or "lookout", cause it slows down my Firefox and Chrome every time! I use the File System Shield, and Mail Shield. NOT using the browsing Shield....that's what slows it down so much. I had to re-install the program the first time, unchecking the Browsing Shield. Price: Free

Privacy Eraser Privacy Eraser

Does a lot of cleaning 4 stars
Very impressive interface...black in the free version. Use the Settings to set all cleaning you wish it to do...even some of the Registry. I started a Scan, took 6 minutes, then clicked on the Clean button. AFter 10 minutes, I stopped it. Later tried a Quick Scan, and after 10 minutes, stopped it again, then uninstalled it. I use Ccleaner, and Wise Disk Cleaner, and that's enough for me. This program cleans IE, Chrome, Opera, and others. Good, if you have the time to use it. Also can schedule it. Price: Free

Eusing Free Registry Cleaner Eusing Free Registry Cleaner

Great registry cleaner 5 stars
I have been using Wise Registry Cleaner, but this Eusing outdoes it all the way around. First time run, found 272 invalid entries in my registry. I clicked on Repair all. It also saved a copy of my registry before cleaning. The next time I ran it, the next day, it only found 5 entries. It also told me that some might not be able to be removed due to the computer not allowing some to be deleted, or might be in use by some other program. I really like this cleaner.....it's a keeper.
