CDBurnerXP CDBurnerXP

Great stuff 5 stars
After reading many users reviews about this product, (both good and bad) I decided to try it. Sometimes the problems people face with programs is the combination of everything already installed and uninstalled on their machines...registries aren't ever perfectly clean. Roxio toasted one of my burners and now it's a paper weight, Nero came with my new burner but it's only 5.5 and express at that...while Nero is great...upgrade cost are, well not an option...CDBurnerXP Pro is a great all around alternative, updates are free, it's free, it encodes music as OGG(which is free)...I expect some problems but then again that is what happens when it's free...SO far it's been absolutely marvelous!!...get it, try it and be happy (and free :) pun intended)!! XnView XnView

Excellent 5 stars
After trying MANY others...THis is a fixture on my desktop!! Using WinXP at work, I am spoiled with the right click - set as wallpaper option...this is a great replacement for all those XP features on a Win2000 box and lower!!...I run Win2000 at home and will not switch to XP just for the features...when you can get fantastic freeware like this to do the same...already gave Mr. Gates cash for Win2000...not gonna for XP...GET this viewer and you will be happy!!! IrfanView IrfanView

There is better 2 stars
I have tried Irfanview on many occasions and have always kept looking for better. I have to say the the numerous windows and the lack a one solid interface is a real downer. The one I have tried and now stick with for image viewing and basic touching up is XnView...I highly recommend XnView over Irfanview...Image processing and creation use The Gimp. Price: Free

Audacity Audacity

Better than the big buck programs 5 stars
I record alot of stuff here at home. Live music, songs etc. and frankly after using high end stuff like Adobe Audition, this has everything I used in Adobe but a hell of a lot less CPU stress. Adobe does a big 26M where audacity uses a mere 5!! Multi tracking is easy and frankly with shelling out 3 bills for and upgrade to Adobe 1.5, I said "it time for a change" Every single piece of software on my PC is Freeware or open source and I donate!! HATS OFF to Audacity and open source...I'd rather pay (donate) to the free stuff and get a product like this...OUTSTANDING WORK!!!! If you record, dub or just play with audio than try, get and support this software...you will not be disappointed!!! Price: Free
