My Windows XP Professional broke. At first, I couldn't even boot into Windows. My file system was corrupted, etc. I tried fixboot, fixmbr, bootcfg rebuild. I tried Bart PE pre-installed environment. Repair Install didn't work ChkDsk didn't work. SFC/scannow didn't work. Microsoft Fix It spit out an error message and couldn't run. I went round and round and round trying every trick in the book I know of. I finally managed to get Windows up and limping. I still couldn't download Windows Updates. I couldn't uninstall or install MSI files. There were other strange little problems. Nothing, individually or collectively got my system back up to snuff. Windows Repair did the job. 100 Stars!
