One of the very best.

I've used this program in the past and at present on my dual-core machine. I've always found it to work very well and is reasonably fast. If configured correctly you'd be hard pressed to find a better anti-virus program.I would and do recommend it as a first rate solution to all. Price: Free

A good antivirus

I've used this for sometime now on my netbook. It's pretty lite on resources..I've found it to work very well and it helps keep every secure. Per reviews I've found on this software it has very good ratings. It shows little in the way of false-positive results. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good antivirus. Price: Free

Apple Safari

Not the best browser by far.

I've used this before and have tried the latest incarnation.I have read it is the least secure of all browsers. Also it features are somewhat spartan in nature. I really see no need of it for daily browsing or much else. But there maybe a few out there that find it useful.Since they've increased it's overall security I see no harm in trying it if you'd like. But there are far better browser to be had. Price: Free

One of the better browser.

Still the very best.

There is not another browser that can touch what FireFox can do.I've used this browser from it's beginnings and have always liked it.With all it's add-ons there simply isn't anything I know of that's better or even close to it. ZoneAlarm Free

Was a good program.

I have used ZA both free and paid in the past.It did a great job back then. But today it needs to be seriously redone. Matousec's firewall tests have shown them to be serious lacking in security. The paid version only caught 72% of the tests. The unpaid version only stopped 11% of the tests. Making it insecure altogether. I no longer recommend or use either of them. There are far better firewalls to be had. Price: Free

A good program.

I agree that this program shows bit to much caution.But that's not a necessarily bad thing. I check each of the things found individually until I'm certain the setting match with I want done. After some fine tuning I can say this program work just as I like it and doesn't vary from it.Using it and other programs of similar nature I find them very effective in combination. Even as a stand alone it cleaned things other simply missed. Price: Free

Was a great program in it's day.

I agree that at one time it was one of the very best. But now it's become problematic to use and is not effective at all.I can no longer in good faith recommend it to anyone these days. I not longer have it installed. There are far better things you can use other than this software. Price: Free

Comodo Internet Security

Simply the best

I have used many firewalls on many different systems. I have found Comodo the most secure you can get paid or otherwise. I only use the Firewall and Hips portion as I think their AV leaves a lot to be desired. It may not be the easiest to use but certainly is the most secure you can get. Price: Free
