optical character recognition tool Capture2Text is an Open Source OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tool that uses the Google Tesseract engine to capture written words from your screen and convert it into editable text. The program is entirely controlled via keyboard shortcuts, you press Win+Q and use the right mouse button to select the area of your screen that contains the text you want to capture There are additional key commands to move or resize the capture area, but some may find it easier to simply start over than to memorize all the commands... The captured text can automatically be copied to the clipboard (default) or shown in a pop-up window for preview. Capture2Text worked well during our review but, as with most OCR tools, it is not immune to errors. The accuracy of the character recognition depends greatly upon the quality of the input document. The program also includes an experimental speech recognition feature that can convert spoken words into text (via Google Voice Recognition). Copyright Snapfiles.com
