secure document shredder Hardwipe is a secure file deletion tool that makes sure that the files you delete are erased beyond recovery. It offers a choice of several industry standard wiping algorithms (Gutmann, DoD etc.) which vary in the number of file overwrites and time they take to complete the wiping operation. You can choose to wipe individual files or entire folders, and also purge the Windows Swapfile and wipe the free space on a selected hard drive. Hardwipe also includes an option to wipe an entire (USB) drive by formatting it first and then cleaning it. Other features include optional speed controls to reduce resource usage and an audit log. If you try to use the regular program in XP or a 32-bit operating system you will get an error message upon installation. So I tried to use the portable edition (32-bit for XP) and it asked for an activation key to use the 32-bit version with XP. So if you still use XP, which I do, you are stuck and have to pay. show Review details

No real problems here, but files for deletion have to be selected manually. A drag and drop or send to option would be useful. show Review details
