Old and fugly 1 stars by mailfilter763 Dec 07, 2020 (Read all my 2 reviews)
You will see another review here, suggesting that it edits RTF files. That review was written by a liar. The person who wrote it tells lies (and makes the baby Jesus cry). Metapad does nothing of the sort - don't waste your time. It might be good at what it does, I don't know, I didn't waste time finding out: it's old, it's fugly, it doesn't handle RTF files; that's all I need to know and all you need to know too - well, apart from the fact that you can (and should) used EditPad instead (because, whilst it doesn't handle RTF files either, it's still being updated). show Review details
Outstanding ! 5 stars by Shodan816 Dec 11, 2009 (Read all my 43 reviews)
I've tried almost all of them, and Metapad is THE BEST notepad replacement I have seen in years. It does everything that notepad does and much more, including the ability to render RTF files, which many notepad replacements won't do. You can look all day long, but you won't find a better notepad replacement than Metapad. show Review details
If replacing notepad 5 stars by gimpguy Apr 06, 2009 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
Yep, as stated, if looking to replace notepad, this will do just fine. I like the transparency setting and line count. It's a step above notepad but not over done for basic text use. show Review details
