a calendar based file manager Nemo Documents is an intuitive file manage that allows you to view your files in a calendar-style view, based on the time they were created or edited. Unlike a full featured file manager, Nemo Documents is designed to provide you with quick access to the files are actually working with, making it easier to find the documents you are looking for. The program supports common document and image formats, as well as audio and video file types. You can customize how file extension are classified, which folders to include, and also filter the display to only show certain file types. Other features include file tagging, keyword search, daily/weekly/monthly and yearly views, mouse-over previews (for some file types) and optional integration with Google apps. Didn't work too well 2 stars by gimpguy Jul 26, 2011 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
I was expecting something better out of this to be honest. Upon install, it said downloading the program, fine, never let me know when it was done or anything. After it was done, the tray icon would do nothing, no right click or left, wouldn't open, caused some minor freezing on desktop. After finally opening the program after a restart, it began to index my files and such, ok, we were getting somewhere. It showed them in a calendar view as it promised but soon after, left. I tried to re-index but it did no good, there was nothing to be found. When they were there, I was hard pressed to get a file to open and my system was slowing to a crawl, this being AFTER the indexing was done. I have 6 gigs of OCZ ram, quad core Phenom Black Deneb, and Nvidia 460 graphics card which I run near anything on my system without an issue, well, except this I guess. I don't think it's a resource hog, more of buggy programming causing this, or (causing resource hogging)if that makes sense. So all in all, I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to using this. show Review details

The major con, even when it is idle it hogs a whopping 30 MB. show Review details
It really is very good 5 stars by Woodster May 17, 2011 (Read all my 6 reviews)
I do some consulting for a firm and my work involves reviewing complex technical documents. In the course of any day, I may see the same base document 2 or 3 times. While renaming each version with the specific datetime, I find that it can be confusing which document I last reviewed or which document I used in comparison. This software makes that easy. The docs are listed by day and sequentially within each day. They will then open directly from the Nemo menu. I only use it for a single folder so I do not know how it works volume-wide. I have two "cons": (1) you must re-index the selected folder to update it, and (2) it will not default to the current date but you need to "move the arrow" to the current week. There may be ways to overcome these small issues (auto re-index or set to current date), but I have not found them. Overall, very good software and definitely helpful. show Review details
