prevent high CPU overloads Process Tamer constantly monitors the CPU usage of other processes and temporarily changes the priority for any process that is overloading your system. This can be useful to prevent CPU intensive processes like video editing, conversions, burning etc. from slowing down your system to a crawl by consuming all available CPU. Process Tamer is fully automatic, it runs in the system tray and automatically springs into action when needed. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Works perfectly for me 5 stars by Nicholas Mar 25, 2016 (Read all my 72 reviews)
For many days I suffered from a sluggish computer with an average (idle) processor usage of 56 percent. To overcome this problem I considered to give up Windows 7 and migrate to Linux. I even thought of Windows 10, but only for a while. Then I discovered Process Tamer. After a few minutes fooling around I was ashtonished and impressed. My processors behaved normally again with an average processor usage of 4 to 12 percent. A perfect piece of useful software! show Review details

Excellent piece of software 5 stars by DocRon Sep 18, 2006 (Read all my 6 reviews)
Bit of a fraggle having to renew freeware license every six months (or make a financial donation) but well worth the effort. If, like me, you download and view multiple video snips then you likely will find everything gradually (eventually) grinds to a halt or gets sooooo slow it takes forever for anything to happen. This program resolves that - even on Windows XP (which ain't supposed to have this problem). The configuration menu / interface may prove a bit daunting to anyone not computer literate but the program chugs along quite happily in its 'as supplied' mode - so no real worries there. Do I like it? Yes, very much and have no hesitation in highly recommending it. show Review details
