Works perfectly for me 5 stars by Nicholas Mar 25, 2016 (Read all my 72 reviews)
For many days I suffered from a sluggish computer with an average (idle) processor usage of 56 percent. To overcome this problem I considered to give up Windows 7 and migrate to Linux. I even thought of Windows 10, but only for a while. Then I discovered Process Tamer. After a few minutes fooling around I was ashtonished and impressed. My processors behaved normally again with an average processor usage of 4 to 12 percent. A perfect piece of useful software! show Review details
Not for vista? 4 stars by michael_axlin Jul 13, 2007
I am using the Process Tamer since long and I am really happy with it! Unfortunately I can not get it running on Vista. show Review details
Excellent piece of software 5 stars by DocRon Sep 18, 2006 (Read all my 6 reviews)
Bit of a fraggle having to renew freeware license every six months (or make a financial donation) but well worth the effort. If, like me, you download and view multiple video snips then you likely will find everything gradually (eventually) grinds to a halt or gets sooooo slow it takes forever for anything to happen. This program resolves that - even on Windows XP (which ain't supposed to have this problem). The configuration menu / interface may prove a bit daunting to anyone not computer literate but the program chugs along quite happily in its 'as supplied' mode - so no real worries there. Do I like it? Yes, very much and have no hesitation in highly recommending it. show Review details
Surprised this isn't rated higher by others 4 stars by Sniffy Jul 04, 2006 (Read all my 3 reviews)
I'm one of those people who only has a 2.5 gig machine with 512 ram, who wants to work at ten things at once. I play a game while waiting for the dial up to open 3 or 4 pages on Ebay, or Google, while printing out my latest software code or typing a letter. You get the message; the computer can't run all that stuff and all the little background widgets without totally bogging down. Well I must admit I was sceptically about this one. Heh! it works like a charm. I can even play music while multitasking. Seems to be stable too. Must say it's interface is not for the weak at heart, but I admit I haven't read all the help stuff yet. Sure does what it's supposed to do on my xp machine. Little expensive for my tastes, (costs time to download freeware) but I'd do it again. show Review details
Very handy and stable 5 stars by LibertyToad Jun 17, 2006 (Read all my 2 reviews)
Wow. This is a nice little utility. It works as advertised. Very, very handy; this is what freeware is all about. In addition it is very stable. One of the problems with freeware is that they can be unstable and rough around the edges--this program is neither. show Review details
