remove formatting from clipboard text PureText is a useful tool to quickly convert clipboard text into plain text and remove all formatting. Usually, if you copy/paste text or paragraphs into a word processor or other rich text aware application, it will maintain all formatting including hyperlinks etc. PureText runs in the system tray and lets you remove all text formatting in the clipboard with a click on the tray icon or by using a keyboard hotkey. I've been using this on one PC for several weeks and have just put a copy onto my other PC. I use MS Word, Excel and Outlook and do a lot of copy and paste. I used to waste so much time trying to remove unwanted formatting. Now I have PureText run at start-up so whenever I want to paste plain text I use Win-V instead of Ctrl-V - so simple! (and I love the 'chink' sound it makes when you use it). show Review details

I've been using this tiny little utility for years now and take it for granted. When working on other people's computers I often wonder why ctrl+q doesn't paste plain text! Why waste time in Excel doing Edit > Paste Special > Values, when you can just press a couple of keys. show Review details
