synchonize and compare directories ViceVersa enables you to compare, mirror and synchronize the content in selected folders or folder trees. You can choose from three different ways to compare your files: Timestamp, CRC or both. The differences between the source and target directories will be shown side-by-side, in an easy to understand manner and you can choose from one-way and two-way synchronization methods to update your files. Other features include optional include/exclude RegEx filters, action preview, manual synchronization and more. An optional Pro version with additional features is available for a charge. I bought the Pro version of this because I was impressed with the free version. This free version is much more reliable than Windows copy function. Windows will abort the entire copy if it comes up with one error. ViceVersa lets you continue the copy and deal with the problem files later. show Review details

This is a specialized utility for comparing the contents two folders and optionally synchronizing them. No bells and whistles, but if you need a utility exactly for this purpose, then this is the one to get. One useful feature in ViceVersa Free, lacking in some more feature-laden utilities, is the ability to align the contents of the selected folders correctly side by side. The display method of the comparison results is excellent. Easy to understand. The downside is that if you wish to change folders the navigation is rather crude. show Review details
