This is an excellent player, well worth your time. Plays everything very nicely. In regard to DVDs, I found an extra added bonus - when a DVD loads, VLC Media Player skips the ads and goes directly to the menu. show Review details

This program will play all formats of audio and video codecs. It supports Linux, MAC, and Windows OS's. You can configure it to your taste so it will remember all your setting everytime you play your media. The authors are great at getting updates out and dealing with security issues that are reported.
