Not so good in some areas 3 stars by gimpguy Oct 22, 2008 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
After trying a few pics without squared edges, PIXresizer was a disappointment. The image was choppy, not a lot of features left in the pic. I scaled a clock pic, 256X256 png image down to 32X32 and it was fairly horrible. I did the same in Gimp and it came out excellent, smooth, nearly all features still in the pic. This may be good for squared images with a high res but forget working with icon images. You won't get a great result. So if you are looking for a basic resizer, free, it's OK. show Review details

Pixresizer is a pleasure to work with. 5 stars by andyneill Apr 28, 2007
I have tried several so called compression aids and have been usually disappointed with the results. To my surprise the quality of resized JPEG pictures down to 33% with PIXresizer resulted in excellent pictures. That, because of the file size reduction ( from 2.95 MB down to 164 KB ) makes the resultant download time for picture-webpages very fast indeed. Moreover, I could not see any detail loses which is usually to be expected in JPEG compressed pictures. Converting from one format to another i.e JPEG to GIF or Bitmap etc.,is very comfortable and pleasing and the multiple file functions are a tremendous advantage to the user. Thank you snapfiles.com. show Review details
Photo compression for webpages 4 stars by Kritichris Mar 27, 2007
I was looking for an easy to use versatile photo resizer for webpage images. This is it, with predefined and custom settings. I tried a few shareware products and they were either too complicated or didn't do enough. Thank you for this program. show Review details
This it the only one you will need........... 5 stars by thegooner Feb 19, 2006 (Read all my 4 reviews)
I have been using PIXresizer for a couple of years, mainly to reduce jpg files size for emails. I know a number of photo editing suites include this function, but as a stand alone application, that is not resource hungry, PIXresizer hit the spot!! show Review details
Great program 5 stars by Mike_Troy Jul 03, 2005 (Read all my 8 reviews)
Great Program. First off, this is not an editing program. If you want that, you will be disappointed. But if you have a need for resizing or converting the format of large numbers of pictures, this is the best free or pay program I have seen. It is extremely flexible in how your convert things. There are lots of great options for mass conversions. You can also do individual conversations very easily. More importantly, it does a great job of maintaining picture quality, something that many other programs do not do well. show Review details
