Bad for your Windows computer. 1 stars by skybabyblue Apr 15, 2015 (Read all my 5 reviews)
Total time using Safari about 1 hour. Total time trying to remove it- a lot longer. This is a bloated piece of apple junk (windows version at least, maybe on a mac this is ok but my review is only for the discontinued windows version). After waiting a longer time then should be necessary installing this browser, which also installed an apple product updater tool deep into the system without letting me know. I had to find this on my own. I then tried the browser for about an hour, it seemed sluggish the entire time and froze up a couple times when going into the options part of the browser. This was long enough to realize this apple browser was not happy inside my Vista laptop so I tried to uninstall it. Try being the keyword, it left behind that apple updater which refused to completely uninstall itself so I had to use Revo Uninstaller to finally clean up all the leftover sour apple pie bits. A bad experience for me and my laptop, we are both happier with Firefox or opera or even IE. Since I dislike Google I don't recommend Chrome but even that is a better choice than this. show Review details
Could be better 2 stars by gimpguy Oct 24, 2011 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
After trying out Safari for Windows, I have to agree, it's slow. The main page took far too long to load and I found the interface a bit sluggish and clunky. I thought with the browser makeup being so basic graphically, it may be faster but I was wrong. I have used Safari in Mac more times than I can count and it's usually very quick but not for Windows. I would easily stay with 1 of 4 other browsers I could think of off hand instead of Safari for Windows. Maybe someone else will like this, I didn't find it very enjoyable at all to use but that's just my opinion. show Review details
Apple Safari is meh 2 stars by WebmasterTeen Jul 08, 2011 (Read all my 3 reviews)
Speed: 6/10. Windows or Mac shouldn't matter. But it seemed to, as Safari, while not as sluggishly slow as Internet Explorer, still seemed to take it's time to load many websites. Even Google, at times. Performance: 6/10. The main problems were the 'thinking' before loading websites, tabs or history. It seemed to get a bit slower with the more tabs I added. It's like Firefox, where the tab processes are all bundled up into one process. Which is bad, if a tab freezes. Customizability: 2/10. No themes that I know of. The addons seemed to have some potential, but there weren't many for Windows, and it didn't let me install any, anyway. Plus it's stuff like adblocker and mail checker, which should be standard features in my opinion. Comfort: 3/10. Not that comfortable. It had a problem with speed, with general browsing at times, etc. Overall: 3/10. Apple's default browser for the Mac may be fine on a Mac. But on Windows, it really was one of the worst browsing experiences I've had so far. It is only a bit better than Internet Explorer, mostly because it was able to load up websites and has an okay default theme. However, it crashed three times, took up over 800 mb of memory, and in general didn't seem to work well on my computer. Maybe someday Safari will improve, but until that happens, I'm afraid I'll have to rate Safari 3/10. show Review details
This is a joke 2 stars by wildgoosespeeder Dec 10, 2010 (Read all my 52 reviews)
Just like iTunes and anything Apple releases, Safari sucks. Yeah that`s right, most things from Apple suck but that`s not what I`m here to talk about. The way I feel about Google Chrome is about how I feel about Safari. Just like iTunes, it takes forever to install but at least it doesn`t install a bunch of services and startup entries without your permission. Also the install file is bloated. I prefer Internet Explorer if that wasn`t obvious in my other browser reviews and what makes Safari suck more is no navigation history for the back and forward buttons. I did hear if you right-click the back or forward buttons it will bring up the navigation history but this only applies to Firefox 4 and Google Chrome. What it comes down to is Safari is the worst of the popular browsers, according to W3Schools when it comes to what the popular browsers are. show Review details
Has come a long way 4 stars by J4Software Feb 13, 2010 (Read all my 2 reviews)
I typically use Firefox 3.6 more often these days, but Safari (4.0.4) has come a long way since the initial buggy / crash-prone Betas. It is very fast at rendering pages, even compared with both Firefox, Opera, and Chrome - and the interface is very clean (which isn't as good depending on your perspective). The history and "cover flow-ish" bookmarks and history is actually quite functional and useful. One thing of note about recent builds of Safari for Windows is memory usage behavior. In casual browsing sessions with multiple tabs open, it rarely exceeds 400 MB. A bit of a unfair comparison to Firefox (which which I use NoScript and a handful of other mainly visual/chrome extensions), Firefox's memory usage even with v3.6 can sometimes far exceed this. One criticism of mine is the minimalistic chrome (i.e., UI), but digging into some of the Preferences reveals that you can customize it to some degree. show Review details
Pretty fast browser 3 stars by Nicholas Feb 10, 2010 (Read all my 72 reviews)
Safari is OK. It lacks the bells and whistles of other (overcrowded) browsers. It is fast and straightforward and it looks and feels like a nice tools for daily browsing. show Review details
Not the best browser by far. 2 stars by Mike132 Nov 24, 2009 (Read all my 18 reviews)
I've used this before and have tried the latest incarnation.I have read it is the least secure of all browsers. Also it features are somewhat spartan in nature. I really see no need of it for daily browsing or much else. But there maybe a few out there that find it useful.Since they've increased it's overall security I see no harm in trying it if you'd like. But there are far better browser to be had. show Review details
