Plays everything

VLC seems to play pretty much every format (at least I have not found a video or audio format it wont play). It's simple to use and best of all it's Free! What more could you ask for. Price: Free

Simple to use file removal for people who need to delete sensitive files. Integrates with Right Mouse click. There is a bulk erase mode as well. Personally, I cannot think of anything else that I would want. Very fast. Price: Free

Simple no fuss sync

This program is simple to use (I did not even need to read instructions). It does what it says on the tin. I use it to sync on a One Way basis with my Laptop/external HDD and a two way sync between two HDDs. Price: Free

TopOCR

Excellent choice

TopOCR works surprisingly well for a free product, it is not guaranteed to work 100%. I have used it about ten times and it only failed once. The accuracy in translation is very good. As an occasional OCR program then I would recommend it. If you have a regular use for such a program then it might pay to put your credit card to use. Price: Free

Best ever browser

Opera takes a little time to get used to but the effort is worth while. I occasionally also use Firefox, and if unavoidable use IE; Opera is so much faster than either of these. To try it is to love it! Price: Free

Avast Free Antivirus

Fantastic security

Fantastic security; I run it alongside Kaspersky 2009 and have never had a problem that one or other of these two has not dealt with. Occasionally I also run SpyBot but it never finds anything that has got through. Price: Free

Pazera Free Audio Extractor

Does an excellent job

I use Pazera Free Audio Extractor as an audio format converter. It does an excellent job at this allowing conversion to and from a stunning variety of file formats. The program is stand alone so does not need to be installed, I run it from an external drive were my music is installed. Great program. Price: Free

JAP Anon Proxy

Instructions are quite clear

For the non technical the instructions are quite clear, the program is reasonably easy to set up even with non Firefox browsers. I use Opera, even this browser was covered. Installed it takes up 8.7 Mbs. Its great. Price: Free
