It doesn't come with instructions, and doesn't need them. The interface is simple. But it has one drawback. Every time you want to access the document, you have to decrypt it. Then when you're done, you have to encrypt it all over again, finding it in your folder tree and setting the password again. Other encryption software I've used just re-encrypts automatically. If you just want to encrypt one file, or only want to access one encrypted file at a time, I recommend you forget this and get AxCrypt instead. If, however, you want to use access several encrypted files at once, this may be the better way to go. The advantage this has over AxCrypt, however, is that you can encrypt or decrypt an entire folder in one action. show Review details

Very simple interface. can encrypt a chosen file or folder. i like how you can just double click on a file to decrypt it. When you double click on a file, the GUI pops up. When you encrypt a folder, the folder structure stays intact and you can still browse through the folders in windows explorer but the files are just encrypted and have the .EOC extension at the end of the file name. The icon for the encrypted files are different as well, the icon looks like the EncryptOnClick program icon. Overall, I really like this app because it's so simple and does what i need very quickly and easily, and it's free! the only thing I'd like to see is that you can change the encryption level - that's not in here. show Review details

EncryptOnClick does what it says on the tin, but is unusual and risky since it deletes files automatically after encrypting them. This means that if any crashes etc occur during the encryption process, the file could be gone forever. It is better to leave the file intact and to delete or shred it manually after encryption.
