This is simply one of the best photo album creators out there! Two Thumbs Up! Lots of great features. Don't forget to visit the web site to download more Skins. show Review details
Great product, unreal that it's free 5 stars by mragjr Jan 30, 2011 (Read all my 5 reviews)
JAlbum has been around for more than 8 years now. If you want to take photos and put them on the web, in a picture frame, in a book, it is an incredible product. You can even use it to just package your photos for an email. Java based so it works on any OS, 100+ custom skins plus easily create/modify your own. There is an online version and a desktop version. Includes its own ftp software or use your favorite (WinSCP, FileZilla, etc.) so you can upload to their site (yes, you even get some free hosting space) or to your own host. Jalbum generates a single directory with everything (slides, thumb nails, HTML pages, comments, etc). Upload to wherever. No idea what the previous reviewer was concerned about. If you have a digital camera and want to share your photos on the web, start right here. show Review details
Difficult to use unless using with pay site. 2 stars by Mike_Troy Dec 21, 2010 (Read all my 8 reviews)
Jalbum has a very clean interface and does a pretty good job displaying photos. It comes with a handy editor for minor photo adjustments and a variety of display options. My major problem with the program is that it is designed almost exclusively for use with the company's web site, where you pay a fairly high fee if you want to publish more than a small number of photos. If you expect to be able to generate HTML files to use elsewhere, be warned that the program makes it very difficult to get to your finished product. Also, once you produce something to be used with a web browser, once you view all the pictures, there is no way to get back to the page where you posted the link other than using your browser's "back" button. If you want to publish your photos to jalbum.net, it's a pretty good tool. Otherwise, I would use something else. show Review details
Best gallery program i have come across 4 stars by Caroline Jan 18, 2008 (Read all my 7 reviews)
I've tried out several gallery programs and this knocks the socks off the rest. Excellent program and it's updated regularly. There's a lively community forum on the home website if you need any help. It isn't the simplest program to use and has a wealth of useful features but isn't full of worthless bloat. With a little experimenting you can find how versatile JAlbum is, especially if you want it to blend with your own website. I heartily recommend this one. show Review details
Brilliant 5 stars by miskairal May 26, 2007 (Read all my 29 reviews)
I love it. Does what it's meant to in a stylish way and all for nothing. Goes great with thingamablog for my purposes ie. dialup, although I do occasionally directly ftp across some bigger jpg files. show Review details
Good for most graphics but not all 4 stars by David1 Nov 15, 2006 (Read all my 3 reviews)
Does not see WMF files. It does see most of the other types of files like GIF, JPG and PNG though. show Review details
Outstanding 4 stars by _PiPPi Dec 07, 2005 (Read all my 3 reviews)
Jalbum an absolute no brainer for any user who wants to put up an album once in a while and wants it to look *real* good. Well enough as that might be, the ingenuity of what Jalbum really is comes into play if you're a notch above amateur and want the best gallery tool available to communicate your work exactly the way you want it. I've been through a lot of image gallery tools and found of 100% them lacking in one or other feature that has made for post-editing the output with a separate HTML-editor to get what is needed. Jalbum lets you do all you need within one piece of software. As with any software with serious capabilities, if you go beyond the defaults you need to spend a few minutes in the manual but that is more than well spent time. I'm plumb amazed that this is freeware, it's simply the best image gallery tool I've ever used. show Review details
