Kept alive by MS Office 2 stars by EmpressTrudy May 16, 2013 (Read all my 16 reviews)
If it weren't for the fact that embedded PDFs have to be opened by Adobe in MS Office and there appears to be no way to change this, there would be zero need for it. Adobe seems to think that if they pile on dozens of features no one wants needs or uses that that somehow will make it great. But, hey, at least we're not talking about the Android version here which is absurdly bloated. show Review details
Bloated and slow 3 stars by JohnCorliss Apr 01, 2012 (Read all my 24 reviews)
If I could give this program an overall rating here, it would be a one based simply on the fact that it's so unnecessarily huge. The interface and features are good, but the program is far too large for what it does. Also, it's very slow at opening .pdf files. I finally gave up on it and went with another .pdf reader program. show Review details

I'm sure this has been said 100s of times but yes, this is bloatware. It is plagued by slow startup, adding an unnecessary startup entry "reader_sl.exe" (Adobe Reader Speed Launcher), adding a plug-in I never use in my web browser, and having an oversized installation executable. Use CCleaner to tell that startup entry to buzz off. It's just a reader (with a save feature for entering data in data fields). No need for it to be bigger than necessary. I`ll pass. show Review details
Really big. 3 stars by JMMannion Aug 13, 2010 (Read all my 25 reviews)
The program is a monster when all I need is a reader, so I went elsewhere. show Review details
Keeps getting bigger, bigger.. 3 stars by boofby Oct 25, 2009 (Read all my 14 reviews)
The program is about 8 times the size of what it once was yet still does the same thing. Granted there are a few extras with recent pdf files, like watermarks, digital signing and all that, but still.. there's no reason any 'reader' application should ever need to be this large, having already surpassed a few smaller operating systems in size if thats any indication. show Review details
