Great program, not difficult to use. I have a dedicated PC running this software for my 2 cameras. I had no crashes, the up time for this program has been about 2 years straight. The only time I've had to reboot the PC was due to Windows updates. show Review details

Installed this on my computer (twice)to attempt to connect to IP cameras installed on my network. Tried 100 different ways get them to work...very frustrating....and the help file doesn't. show Review details

I have had ContaCam for about 3 weeks and have noticed a few things. 1-The option to review is odd. That is to say I am not able to review the footage because the camera seems to be frozen. I mean that I have a clock in the target area and the time NEVER changes. 2-I have found that when I search for the folder containing the footage or pictures, I find them under .avi but I also find these other files which are designated as: Dc100, Dc101, Dc 102 etc. I CANNOT delete those files when I clear out the folder. The only thing I think this application needs is to have a way or setting to change data folder. By doing "move the folder" is kind of dumb to my opinion. I could do it from explorer... It would be best if I could set it to stick drive, external drive or network drive for backup purpose or easy access. Maybe the upgrade can fix it? show Review details

Have looked for some time for a good software solution to tie in a Audio Video USB grabber I have had for some time. Wanted to tie my computer into security cameras outside of my home. ContaCam was the ideal solution for this issue and although some of the settings can initially be confusing, I found it to be an excellent program to turn my PC into a security DVR. The motion detection aspect works very well ( Sometimes too well if it is winter and you have blowing snow in the camera's field of view. ) All told, a great program and being Free, you can't beat the price... show Review details

A long time ago there was a software that allowed your cam to become a motion detector cam, security cam, etc... but it didn't have a lot of options and I since got tired of it. After trying this, I am back into it yet again. Capturing and detecting device was no issue at all, did a great job. Definitely worth it, even just the fun of turning you cam into a security cam is worth downloading and trying this. show Review details

It rare to be able to say without hype that a piece of freeware is the best of its kind, but ContaCam deserves this accolade. Having tried several webcam capture programs that were mediocre, this was a surprise. ContaCam is by far the best webcam capture program that I have used, and it deserves to be more widely known. The range of features is extraordinary, and the video quality of the captures is also excellent. If you have a webcam, you must give ContaCam a try. show Review details

Now I have been a solid user of another program and even owe them my thanks for helping putting some away. . . Yet I still had to look at this program. Simply put, I was blown away by its features, its incredibly low resource use, and what sold me on this program was the very intelligently way they created for browsing the stored files. The GUI is clean. Honestly the list of options was more then I could of even think of having for a free program. Starting to worry about this programers sanity. . .
