I have two applications for a video recorder: preparing tutorials and recording sessions of join.me which we use for training sessions.
The first shortcoming is that the cursor isn't recorded. I can understand why, but it ought to be an option; without it the program is useless for tutorials
The second shortcoming regards sound,.It records sounds coming down from the internet nicely, but for tutorials I need it to record from a mike. I monkeyed around for some time using the windows 7 sound settings and found it's device but I couldn't find any way to get sound to it. One panel came up saying it wanted a mike in a jack in the back of the machine, so I put one in there with no luck.
Neither of these areas were mentioned in the help section.
Other than these items the program is really neat. Recording in MP4 is a big plus, and defining the areas of interest on the desktop is a big plus too. One screen that says to "record now" leads to another which works with defining the area to be recorded, and only then does a button click result in recording. The first one should be "Prepare to record" or something like that.
It looks like the program is still in development, and I anticipate the issues I've mentioned above will be taken care of. Since somewhere along the installation line it referred to "evaluation something" I suspect it will go for a price when sufficiently mature. If the issues I mention above are fixed and the price is reasonable I'd be a customer.
