repartition and format a USB drive BOOTICE enables you to modify, backup and restore the Master Boot Record (MBR) and Partition Boot Record (PBR) for local drives or USB FLash drives. In addition to other advanced uses, BOOTICE can help you repartition and format a USB drive if it has been previously formatted with a non-Windows file system, which usually results in Windows not being able to see all or only a portion of the USB drive (e.g. restoring a USB stick that has been used as Hypervisor key).BOOTICE supports boot records from Grub4Dos, SysLinux, Plop, Windows NT5/6 and others. Other features include support for disk images, disk filling with random data, BCD editing, partition management, command line options, and more.Caution: Fiddling with the boot sectors of a system drive can leave your computer unbootable. Unless you know exactly what you're doing, you should only use BOOTICE with removable, non-system drives. Copyright Snapfiles.com

The user interface is very well designed 4 stars by tonnysins589633 Nov 23, 2020
The user interface is very well designed and is self-documenting; The forum at the author's website is in clear English (follow publisher link above), and is closely monitored by him with answers usually within hours. All the documentation you need is contained in the screen shots above or in the user interface options included. This is a must-have tool for anyone working with multi-boot systems andor wanting to createuse bootable liverescue systems on USB media but can be used on any disk. It not meant for the rank novice but should be useful (and educational) to any moderately literate computer user. If you install your own disks then you should have this tool. You don't need to know what Lvyanan or GRUB4DOS MBRs are for Bootice to be useful. If you do, then use Google and educate yourself. The only thing missing is support for GPT disks but that may be forthcoming someday. PetsHoods https:www.petshoods.com show Review details

Great for people playing with ssds 5 stars by hanhwe.kim320 Apr 13, 2012
Futzing with SSD's can be painful. This tool really REALLY helped me out. I somehow copied a disk to a new SSD without the proper settings to make the SSD bootable. Bootice was able to fix my problem easily. It saved me alot of time! Thank You Pauly! show Review details
