block JavaScript and Flash in Firefox NoScript is a Firefox extension that enables you to interactively block Java, JavaScript, Flash and other plug-ins with the click of a button. You can choose to temporary block or allow scripts on the current sites and also allow your trusted sites to be exclude from any blocking action. Whenever you visit a site, all potentially invasive script content is blocked by default, and you can choose to enable it on a per-script basis from the Firefox status bar. NoScript provides detailed configuration options that allow to choose which type of script content should be blocked, how to notify you and what actions to take. You can also configure a WhiteList of allowed sites, set restrictions for HTTPS pages, prevent Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks and more. Copyright Snapfiles.com

Very good software! 4 stars by a1w84rs975 Jun 06, 2014 (Read all my 3 reviews)
NoScript started out with some problems but has progressed to becoming much more stabilized. The latest upgrades show much improvement and can help users to stay afloat and fight rogue websites, etc. that want to become invasive on your computer. Overall, it is a very good product that should be used if you care enough about helping to protect your computer from invasions in JavaScript that can be shielded and fought off. show Review details
Yes and no 3 stars by EmpressTrudy May 16, 2014 (Read all my 16 reviews)
Here's the thing. It's brilliant and your web pages do very well with it and it's faster and all that. Problem is that today javascript is so pervasive that in order to do ANYTHING including view most pages, print, you have to turn on SOME Javascript. And by the time you sift through the PAGES, the 30 or 40 different Javascripts, the nested layers of recursive script, you may as well saved yourself some time and simply turned off the add-on and loaded it all. show Review details
Wish everyone used it 5 stars by gimpguy Apr 12, 2011 (Read all my 1159 reviews)
This comes in very handy to help block harmful scripts from getting on your system. Some claim you have to be highly technical to use it, not true, it sort of learns as you go. If you get to a web page you trust or need to allow something you know is good, you do that. If you don't need it, let it be blocked. There is the argument that some sites depend on advertisement but that's a moral debate, not whether this is a good app or not. It does it's job and does it well. The more you use it the less you will see of it. Only once in a while does mine come up with warnings. I go to specific sites mainly so it rarely alerts me unless there is a changed or malicious script. This is how many infections get on a PC, through a script, so the math is easy, blocking a script at the source as opposed to trying to rid yourself of an infection later makes the most sense. Most of the time I don't even know it's there anymore but when it is, I thank it. show Review details
