The user interface is ludicrously difficult to figure out and interact with. Without any warning, changing one setting will remove another. Nonetheless, I tried to get to a point where I believed I understood what was going on. I carefully set the program to convert a large dimension video down to a smaller resolution version. I waited for over a half hour for the processing to be done only to discover that the program had completely ignored my settings and the resulting video had its original dimensions. And I had double checked that the settings were in place before I proceeded with the processing. I will NEVER use this program again and am in the process of finding a replacement.

Have used this program extensively to transcode files for quite a few years now. Handles single files as well as batches of files quite well. Has multi threaded optimizations, so it takes advantage of multi core processors quite well. Highly recommended program.

The latest versions of this software seem to take forever to load for one reason or another. I use V3.4.4.8 and it does virtually everything. Later versions exhibit the startup problem.

This is an amazing both install and stand-alone program to convert whatever video and audio format to another. It is created and maintained by Sebastian Doerfler who has done a wonderful job at keeping up with the most used formats on the market today. The interface is quick and easy to understand. You can look at it and just get converting. The number of feature allow you to customize the final output of your video.
Wow!
It is a massive Two-Thumbs Up!!
Again, thank you to the author for making this software available.

I've used this for several years. It's one of the few which has the "streaming fast start" option when encoding MP4. That is essential if you're making files for use on websites, otherwise the video won't start playing until the entire file has downloaded. The "CPU Priority" setting is another bonus. So XMedia Recode can be left chugging away encoding without bringing other activities on the PC to a standstill. Many thanks to the author.
